A series of installations about the quality of human pain and suffering, inspired by the television series ‘Ratched’.

Mental pain is subjective—mindset dictates perception, but what about childhood trauma? A child’s mind is not equiped to recognise, process and comprehend a ‘bad’ situation, so their outlook on such events as it occurs and inretrospect is muddled by confusion, discomfort, realisation, regret, and a resounding amount of helplessness. These intense emotions come as a shock to the under developed brain and the young individual may bury these ‘bad’ memories within a part of their mind they can’t reach.
